We’re Hiring: RETAIL Sales Associate

Verdalina, in Richmond, VA, brings together independent designers and smaller labels with a distinct point of view. The store attracts clients who look past familiar names, who respond to construction and material, and who tend to notice the details.

We’re a small team, and the work is collaborative, hands-on, and attentive to the day-to-day rhythms of retail.

We’re looking for Sales Associates—part-time or full-time—to join Verdalina, named in November by the New York Times Style section as one of The 50 Best Clothing Stores in America. The right person has a sharp eye and a steady sense of how people move through a space, and understands clothing not just as product, but as something lived in.

This role centers on building rapport, guiding clients with clarity, and contributing to a store environment that feels coherent and cared for.

RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE

Responsibilities

  • Engage clients with ease and awareness, offering thoughtful guidance when it’s welcome
  • Support wardrobe decisions through strong product knowledge and an instinct for proportion, material, and fit
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with clients through considered follow-up and personal outreach
  • Contribute to the overall pace and tone of the floor so the space holds a steady, unforced rhythm
  • Handle transactions accurately and with attention to detail
  • Assist with merchandising, restocking, shipping, and the day-to-day upkeep of the store

Experience

We’re looking for those with previous retail or client-centered experience—comfortable selling mid to high price-point clothing and accessories. Working knowledge of Shopify POS is a plus.

Compensation

Both part-time and full-time roles are W-2 positions. Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience.
